Growing up and growing out..

I have only recently started listening to folk.

It's amazing how dismissive of anything outsside the box as we are growing up listening to a certain type of music. Turns out Bob Dylan, Billy Brag and Jeffrey Lewis have more aggression than any Slipknot record and more political commentry than Rage Against the Machine could ever hope to muster.

I need an acoustic guitar. Wheres my credit card? (Award for least punk rock statement on the blog thus far)

Dogs life.

I have found myself becoming incredibly competitive when it comes to music recently and I am having to make an effort not to be.

Anyone who plays an instrument to be better than someone else should stop, sell your equipment and go become an athlete, or a doctor or a lawyer where being better than everyone else is the only goal.

Being part of this global community of musicans means sometimes feeling like you're not as good as someone else, thats normal but I bet there is something you do when you play they can't do. Use a keyboard as a drum, use a microphone as a plectrum. Just CREATE! thats what music really is.

This blog sounded better in my head.

Listen to Graveltrap and get over yourselves.

I kind of find it hard to sleep, so I'll try my hand at counting sheep

I have a wierd taste in my mouth, It's been here for a few days. Kind of tastes like foreign food and blood.

I miss shopping and I never thought I would say that. Just going into a supermarket at 3am and buying a bottle of milk. Honestly people should respect their early morning providers.

I really should go to sleep, staying awake is not going to influence Tesco to open a 24 hour metro on my street.

But you can only hope.

Need sleep!

I have always been a big fan of sleep, by big fan of sleep I mean deep sleeper, and by that I mean lazy bastard.

Someone once sang about working 9 to 5, personally I prefer Wilhelm Scream 5 to 9 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqNjU3TJbys)

Working 8 - 7 is pretty much killer, especially when the bed I sleep in seems to have had a falling out with my neck and back and they are no longer on speaking terms.

Oh well, another day another $$ as they say. (In fact I just made that up)
